NAPW honors Jill A. Baker as a 2015 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Baker is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business. “I took part in a collaborative effort at Pathway Genomics to launch a new breast cancer testing panel,” says Ms. Baker. “We also launched a program that allows women who cannot afford the breast cancer test to receive one at no cost.”
For nearly five years, Ms. Baker, who has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Cal State University Northridge, has held a key position at Pathway Genomics, a leader in the commercial genetic testing industry. In her role as Senior Director Client Services, she is instrumental in successfully establishing and managing customer / client relationships. Using her effective communication and in-depth analytical skills, Ms. Baker has been directly responsible for the company’s less than .5% personnel turnover rate.
Ms. Baker’s areas of expertise include organizational management, process improvements, ERP implementations and work delegation. As a seasoned professional, Ms. Baker is passionate about mentoring and coaching younger coworkers. She is generous about sharing her time and knowledge with them and takes pride in seeing how her guidance helps young colleagues grow professionally. “I am most proud of the professional development I have witnessed among those who report to me,” says Ms. Baker.
